Job Description

TGen, the Translational Genomics Research Institute, is a part of City of Hope. We are an Arizona-based, nonprofit medical research institute dedicated to conducting groundbreaking research with life-changing results. We work to unravel the genetic components of common and complex diseases, including cancer, neurological disorders, infectious disease, and rare

childhood disorders. By identifying treatment options in this manner, we believe medicine becomes more rational, more precise and more personal.

The Pirrotte Laboratory is seeking a Research Associate to become an integral member of our dynamic team. Specializing in cancer research, the lab focuses on the early detection of cancer biomarkers and signaling pathways. Our mission is to harness cutting-edge, high-throughput omic technologies to create impactful therapeutic interventions. Our diverse research scope extends from addressing health disparities in underserved human populations to studying naturally occurring cancers in canine and avian species. Team members gain exposure to a broad array of scientific techniques and actively contribute across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experimental procedures under supervision.
  • Perform basic data analysis and sample tracking.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation, including detailed laboratory notebooks, maintenance spreadsheets, and protocol updates.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the lab space.
  • Operate and upkeep laboratory equipment.
  • Provide support and guidance to colleagues and interns.
