Summary

The Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Operations Associate to support operational functions across the clinical, educational, and research mission areas. The Business Operations Associate will work closely with departmental leadership to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and quality. They will also contribute to growth initiatives and business development by analyzing and reporting on data to drive decision making.   

Job Duties

  • Oversees daily business operations of the department, primarily in the areas of human resources and compliance, and financial management.
  • Assists in development and reporting of departmental budget and generation of other financial data.  Monitor revenues and expenses and prepare monthly reporting packages for departmental leadership.   
  • Prepares proformas for new faculty hires, generate capital equipment requests and other provide administrative and operational support for new business initiatives.
  • Collaborates with clinical operations leadership to identify process and quality improvement opportunities to maximize efficiency and revenue generation.
  • Assists with strategic business development as it relates to clinical operations.  Specifically, formulate business plans, proformas, and concept acceptance proposals as required.
  • Assists with clinical program development and marketing for the program.
  • Works with Medical Director and Practice Manager to maximize clinic efficiency.  Create regular internal mechanism to periodically review pricing for self-pay offerings such as cosmetic injections/procedures, sublingual allergy therapy, and hearing aids.
  • Assists with vendor comparison and selection for specialized services in Otolaryngology such as allergy immunotherapy.
  • Evaluates subspecialty specific EMR/technology solutions that would improve quality and efficiency of care.
  • Assists with internal and external communications efforts including website and social media management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience in academic medicine, or healthcare consulting would be beneficial.
  • Experience in project management and change management.
  • Social media marketing experience.
