Job Description

As part of a DOE funded project on the ultrafast dynamics of complex polar textures, we have an opening for a postdoctoral researcher. This project uses synchrotron and FEL sources to explore optical and field driven dynamics in heterostructures composed of ferroelectric, dielectric, and metallic layers. The role of this position is to lead experiments in scattering and spectroscopy in support of an on-going campaign proposal at the Linac Coherent Light Source.

Position Requirements

  • Experience with condensed matter or materials physics is advantageous but not necessary.
  • Experience in time-resolved probes is advantageous but not necessary
  • Strong experience with X-ray diffraction is desired.
  • Excellent written and oral communication as well as data analysis skills.
  • Strong skills in collaboration and ability to work independently.

Education: A PhD degree completed within the last three years or soon to be completed in physics, chemistry, material science, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
