What You Will Achieve 

As the Remediation Operational Lead, you will manage site operations associated with a complex environmental remediation project located in central New Jersey.  In this role, you will work in a team environment as part of a matrixed organization. The Environmental Engineering, Remediation and Transactions (ERT) team provides leadership, expertise, and execution in the clean-up of environmental impacts and management of environmental liabilities.  ERT team members are also responsible for environmental due diligence for transactions involving real property.

How You Will Achieve It 

  • Oversee operation, maintenance, and monitoring of a large-scale wastewater treatment and conveyance system
  • Oversee and manage routine and non-routine site operations and projects
  • Oversee and manage site security operations
  • Direct and supervise third party contractors
  • Maintain strict budget and cash flow management
  • Ensure a strong health and safety culture
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and effective agency interaction
  • Ensure effective partner and stakeholder engagement

Qualifications 

Must-Have 

  • HS Diploma (or Equivalent) with 15+ years of progressive experience as an environmental site operations professional; OR a Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of progressive experience as an environmental site operations professional
  • Self-motivated individual who is effective working in a values-based team environment
  • Leverages excellent interpersonal and communications skills to review, discuss, and inform key stakeholders of concepts to drive informed decisions
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects or assignments simultaneously
  • Excellent technical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Experienced in remedy implementation and project management
  • Practical experience with the interpretation of environmental regulations relating to environmental investigation and remediation projects.
  • Experience in direct engagement with environmental regulatory authorities
  • Solid remedial cost estimation and budget/cash flow management skills
  • Effective management of third-party consultant engagements

Nice-to-Have 

  • Professional certifications and/or OSHA HAZWOPER, DOT and RCRA training.
  • NJDEP Industrial Wastewater Treatment System operator’s license or significant experience with wastewater treatment system O&M
