Working with our innovative engineering and automation team, you will help bring medicines to the world even faster by imagining what’s possible and taking action. You will be service oriented; delivery focused and have the ability to build rapport with key members of the digital and engineering teams to implement changes and improvements to the site and projects.


What You Will Achieve

  • Working with Pfizer’s dynamic automation and engineering team, the Automation Engineer will be working on our manufacturing equipment including our DeltaV Distributed Control System, our Vendor Package Equipment, Multiple SCADA Platforms and a variety of Programmable Logic Controllers and embedded controllers. You will be service orientated, delivery focused and have the ability to build rapport with key members of the operations and engineering teams in specifying and implementing automation changes \ fixes \ improvement projects and system troubleshooting.
  • As an Automation Engineer, your knowledge and skills will contribute towards the goals and objectives of the team. Your ability to meet team targets will help in completing critical deliverables. Your innovative use of communication tools and techniques will facilitate in explaining difficult issues and establishing consensus between teams.
  • Reporting to the Automation Lead, this role is part of the core Engineering Team, supporting both sustaining activities & delivering on key projects as required

How You Will Achieve It

  • Contribute to the completion of projects, manage your own time to meet agreed targets and develop plans for short-term work activities on your own projects.
  • Developing automated system life cycle documents to meet cGMP requirements (i.e. SOPs, Configuration Specifications, Functional Design Specifications).
  • Supporting department audit\inspection readiness and participate in audits and regulatory inspections as required.
  • Ensure that work performed is accurate, timely, efficient and compliant with corporate policies, Good Manufacturing Practices regulations, and Regulatory Agency requirements.
  • Must be solutions orientated, delivery focused and passionate about supporting production with technical support solutions.
  • Implementing code/systems changes on the automation systems under change management/change control as part of sustaining and Capital projects as required.
  • Participating in the development of the Automated System Life Cycle documents.
  • Working on production systems continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining the validated state of the automation systems.
  • Any other activities as directed by the Area Lead.


Qualifications
Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree (Level 8) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related field with substantial experience within a sustaining or project environment.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated Automation experience in a Good Manufacturing Practices environment within bioprocess or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical solutions for complex problems through automation systems knowledge.
  • Proven ability leading and working in cross functional teams with excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Project coordination\management experience is desirable.
  • Strong technical background is essential for this role (PLC, SCADA, DCS, GAMP, GMP).
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Experience delivering orsupporting GAMP5 SoftwareCategory 5 solutions across all stages of the lifecycle (design, development, validation, deployment, sustaining)
  • Good knowledge of Automation systems (PLCs, HMI, SCADA, DCS/DeltaV)
  • Good knowledge of ISA95 and ISA88 design/implementation.
  • Good knowledge of Laboratory Equipment.
  • 4 years DeltaV Batch experience, ideally in Life Sciences industry.
  • S88 model deployment using DeltaV.
  • Strong client interface experience.
  • Must demonstrate design and ownership of process automation delivery solutions.
