Summary

The Scott Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX is seeking a Research Coordinator II. We are seeking an organized and detailed lab professional as we grow the Bladder Cancer Research Center team. The Coordinator plays a vital role for the research program. This position aids in the day-to-day operations of the tissue bank, and helps to provide a safe-secure environment for all stored specimens. This individual is responsible for collecting, processing, maintaining the storage, and transport of human tissues to and from Baylor College of Medicine facilities and hospitals.

Job Duties

  • Autonomously maintain and coordinate high quality tissue inventory/management
  • Processing and coordinating shipments of tissue(s)
  • Provide consenting documentation
  • Scheduling and monitring visits by the sponsors trial
  • Data Gathering, analyzing records and evaluating data following methods requested
  • Maintain repository-specific equipment and monitoring systems
  • Recruit, screen, schedule, and perform interviews with research participants.
  • Inform research participants regarding study objectives, benefits, and risks.
  • Observe, record, collect data, and enter data into the study database/system.
  • Record pertinent medical information for study participants.
  • Administer patient questionnaires relevant to studies, and monitor research 
  • participants to ensure adherence to study rules.
  • Conduct and assist with all aspects of the clinical research process, including study 
  • design, hypothesis, methods, and analysis conclusion.
  • Manage regulatory documents to ensure full compliance with Institutional Review 
  • Board policies and procedures.
  • Compose research manuscripts, abstracts, conference posters, and visual 
  • presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Superior organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as a part of a team;
  • ?Can simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and standard clinical procedures and protocols;
  • Strong knowledge of biological and medical concepts.
  • Proficient with organizing large amounts of research data using Microsoft Excel and 
  • statistical software.
  • Knowledge of biostatistics.
  • Familiarity with fundamental scientific research methods.
