What You Will Achieve

Performs duties required in operating a variety of equipment used in his/her assigned area of the Division, maintaining responsibility for tasks as assigned. This includes fermentations, Raw material handling, sterilizations, liquid transfers, process experiments, SAP transactions, warehouse receiving, truck unloading, forklift deliveries. Performs quality control analyses as required to complete in-process batches and identifies variations. Processes generate high pressure and/or temperatures and requires training in hazardous material handling and emergency procedures.

As part of the Technical Operations team, your prior work experience and ability to apply your breadth of knowledge will help you adapt the standard methods and procedures. You will help us identify required delivery and process improvements that drive increased efficiency, throughput and quality. You will arrive at decisions on which methods and procedures are the best fit for different work situations.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Manage own time, professional development and be accountable for own results.

  • Prioritize own workflow and assist in prioritizing the work low of less-experienced colleagues.

  • Perform duties required in operating a variety of equipment used in the assigned area of the division, maintaining responsibility for tasks.

  • Identify and communicate all operating deviations and problems and take immediate action to resolve any near miss situations.

  • Operate automatic and manual chemical process equipment of varying complexity in various production processes in accordance with operating procedures.

  • Perform quality control analyses as required to complete in-process batches and identifies variations.

  • Complete all documentation according with Good Manufacturing Practices {also cGMP} and Good Distribution Practices {part of GxP} standards.

  • Responsible updating of Manufacturing Standard Work and Operation Standard work.

  • Responsible for preparation and clearing of equipment for maintenance work.

  • Perform material receiving, staging, material movement, dispensing, sampling, filter inspection and change out and charging operation as per Standard Operating Procedure.

  • Complete trainings in PLS (Pfizer Learning Systems) and others relevant areas.

  • Adapt successfully to shifting priorities and modifications to procedures and processes.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Education:  High school diploma / general education degree (GED) and 7 years related experience. Candidates with prior experience in a chemical or formulation manufacturing environment preferred and may differentiate candidates during the selection process.

  • Experience:  Minimum of five years’ experience in API and completion of operator training program.  Current or previous fermentation experience preferred

  • Certificates, Licenses or Registrations: Fork-lift certification, as required

  • Language Skills: Effective written and oral communication

  • Computer Skills:  Microsoft Applications and experience with SAP

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Considerable standing, walking, climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting and moving of containers up to 25 kg. Considerable outside environment; hot/cold conditions. Frequent exposure to airborne particles;   Must work near moving mechanical parts.  The noise level in the work environment is loud.  Use of hearing, hand, head, feet, eye and repertory protection is required. 7 day work schedule.
