Job Summary

This position will perform administrative duties for the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) students and faculty at both the Health Sciences and Summerville campuses. This position will further be performing administrative duties for the college as a whole under the direction of the Administrative Assistant to the Dean. This position must demonstrate the ability to work independently, professionally, make informed decisions and communicate regularly with the Administrative Assistant to the Dean. This person must be proactive, positive and work cooperatively as a part of a team, keeping in mind their role in representing the college.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

Administrative Support on the Summerville Campus: Provides administrative support to the College of Science and Mathematics faculty on the Summerville campus when staffing the CSM office on that campus. Answer, screen, and route calls; coordinate work orders; assist with maintaining office supplies; assist students, faculty and visitors on the Summerville campus as needed. Communicate with CSM departmental administrative assistants as situations arise that relate to departmental faculty and student needs.

Administrative Assistant to the Dean: Provides administrative support to the Administrative Assistant to the Dean while on both the Summerville and Health Sciences campuses. Assists in the planning and coordination of college events. Assume primary responsibility for maintaining office supplies for the entire CSM administrative team. As appropriate to this position's responsibilities for Summerville faculty and CSM office supplies and event logistics, coordinate with the Business Operations Specialist to perform financial transactions such as requisitions, P-card purchases, IDR's, check requests, and Foundation check requests.

Other: Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of three years' progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions; OR High School diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and six years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a professional office environment. Experience working independently and making informed decisions. Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Experience with an academic environment. Experience with Banner and PeopleSoft is highly preferred.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities



Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; customer service skills; organizational skills; and time management skills. Detail oriented.

ABILITIES

Ability to maintain confidentiality; to type well; to use a multi-line phone system; and to multi-task within a busy office environment.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday

Pay Grade: 10

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
