Facilities Services Division provides quality customer service by maintaining a safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment in which students, faculty, and staff can function and accomplish their educational objectives and by supporting a patient care culture that continuously improves. Facilities Services' responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.
Job Summary
Responsible for planning, development and execution of a standardized custodial training program that will address all aspects of cleanliness, scheduling and equipment usage for custodial operations. Ensures established quality standards and best practices for custodial services are adhered to by on site direct weekly observations. Develop and promote positive relationships with University faculty, staff and custodial teams. Assist with identifying staff training requirements; provide technical guidance and direction to Environmental Services (EVS) team members.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform building cleanliness, safety and damage inspections via technology program(s) that support continuous improvement in the cleanliness baseline to levels consistent with APPA standards. This includes assisting the Director in the development and review of inspection trends and reports.
Attend EVS Department Meetings
Coordinates departmental training programs, develops training presentations using appropriate Microsoft office applications, and conducts onboarding, in-service and onsite training sessions.
Provides reports and associated trend data to Director and EVS managers.
Coaching and mentoring of EVS technicians to effectively address inspection deficiencies.
Assist in the review and update(s) of EVS Standard Operating Procedures/Training Guide.
Communicates with Work Management (WMC) on safety related deficiencies, and building dame, e.g. lights out, holes in walls, tripping hazards, missing tiles etc. that were observed/noted during inspections.
Completes other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Required Experience
High school diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accredited organization and a minimum of three years' supervisory/management experience in a commercial custodial operation.
Preferred Qualifications
AA degree from an accredited college or university in Business/Management/Safety or related field.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Certifications/License
Must possess or complete within one-year ISSA's Cleaning Management Institute or equivalent Train-The-Trainer Certification. Must have a valid driver's license to operate AU vehicles.

Pay Grade: 11
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
