Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a Physician Billing Specialist II who is detail oriented, enjoys working as a team and independently in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Physician Billing, which includes patients registration, maintaining the security of patient information by complying with HIPAA regulations, data entry, maintaining Pre-A/R work queues, and other duties as assigned. Computer skills are important for the use of various hospital portals.

 

This position may offer a hybrid work arrangement after completion of training.

Job Duties

  • Monitor and maintain work queues (registrations, self-pay, Medicaid found, customer service, and others).
  • Assist with missing surgery reports (work from a spreadsheet , review operative notes to determined if ready for processing, work closely with varies departments to get missing information for billing, look up information in various insurance portals.
  • Data entry, assist with entering a large amount of charges from billing sheets into Epic system.
  • Resolve patient billing issues, follow up on commercial insurance, verify Medicare and Medicaid is active monthly.
  • Resolve patient reconciliations reports.
  • Assist with helping departments meet monthly goals and deadlines, respond to department e-mails in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epic EHR
  • Ability to work overtime during month end as we handle billing for various departments.
