Summary

Temple, TX - We are seeking a Senior Coordinator, Academic Services. Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) School of Medicine (SOM) develops diverse, compassionate physician leaders and educators who provide expert patient-centered care to diverse populations, supported by evidence-based practice and scientific innovation.  The SOM offers programs that cover the learning continuum from Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), Graduate Medical Education (GME) to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).  In addition, SOM also offers MD/PhD and Baccalaureate/MD programs.   
  
This position reports to the Director of Academic Services.
 

Job Duties

Student Services 

  • Provides students with efficient and courteous service via phone, email, or in person. 
  • Provides service to BCM-Temple students related to financial aid awarding and processing registrar’s forms (e.g. transcripts, enrollment verifications, deferments, etc.). 
  • Serves as School Certifying Official for Veteran Educational Benefits 
  • Participates in cross-training with Financial Aid and Office of the Registrar. 
  • Facilitates the student’s ability to navigate students through Registrar’s and Financial Aid website, CAMS student portal, and other related forms to ascertain information. 
  • Provides registration and financial aid support for BCM-Temple students related to cores, electives, and awarding aid. Senior Coordinator in Temple will serve as a liaison for students with questions and escalate to the unit(s) in Houston as needed. 
  • Assists with one-on-one financial debt management counseling. 
  • Adheres to institutional, state, and federal financial aid awarding policies. 

  
 Reporting 

  • Adheres to institutional, state, and federal policies (e.g. FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), GLBA (Gramm Leach Bliley Act), BCM policies). 
  •  Assists in accreditation data requests and other reporting needs,

 

General Office Support 

  • Identifies and implements automated procedures in alignment with best practices. 
  • Updates Policy and Procedures Manual and Operations Manual.
  • Participates in the development of the operational calendar. 
  • Participates in professional development opportunities related to IES, individual units, or teambuilding. 
  • Utilizes communication tools via zoom and MS Teams to facilitate communication and cross training with BCM-Houston. 
  • Serves as notary for Temple campus. 
  • Processes and reroute incoming mail at Temple campus, as needed. 
  • Collaborates with BCM-Houston on process improvements or automation for Temple campus. 
  • Processes and reroute incoming mail at Temple campus, as needed. 
  • Assists with marketing and promotion of BCM-Temple services.
  • Identifies and implements automated procedures in alignment with BCM-Houston. 
  • Serves as a back-up for general email boxes for Registrar’s Office and Financial Aid. 

  

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with working a financial aid or registrar's office. 
  • Experience working in higher education.
