Description of Work
This position plays a critical role in the execution of experiences connected to new student recruitment. This position will be responsible for the design, implementation, and communication of recruitment events, as well as will play a role in supervising other staff focused on executing recruitment events. This individual will be viewed as a working manager, helping to prioritize the work for their team while also supporting the execution of various events and activities. This individual will work collaboratively with others in the pre-event planning, program execution and post-event follow up. Coordination includes working closely with Nebraska faculty and staff, current student ambassadors, on and off campus vendors, and marketing. As a member of the Office of Admissions, this individual will support our guest service needs by responding to phone, email, and in person contact with prospective students. This individual will be expected to communication with a variety of individuals and support presentations on behalf of the office. Position requires many nights and weekend hours. Position will also oversee, Event Coordinators, Event Associates and Student intern(s).

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 year’s experience in education, hospitality, business, communication, or related field. Demonstrates excellent communication and organizational skills, Ability to present to audiences from diverse backgrounds and various size of audiences. Ability to think critically and use information, such as data to make decisions. Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Knows how to use information such as data to make sense of what is happening. Experience with Microsoft Office software. Experience in the event planning/hospitality industry, sales, & marketing or advertising. Written & verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assigned projects on time. Ability to learn new technologies. Ability to relate to people of all age groups, academic abilities, and cultures. Proven ability to work independently and with little or no supervision, little or no clerical support. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Campus and/or community involvement. Experience leading others. Knowledge of the state of Nebraska and its challenges amongst under-represented populations
