Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Performs initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition and establishes goals and plan of care.
- Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard speech therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
- Completes documentation to comply with department, hospital, and regulatory standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Master's level degree required.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program.
Certifications:
- Current Ohio Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Must hold or have applied for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- Experience in clinical area preferred.
- Modified barium swallow experience highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform tasks needed for patient care and administrative tasks.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
