College/Department Information

The Augusta University School of Public Health was established in 2023 to address Georgia's distinct public health challenges through exceptional education, innovative research, and collaborative community engagement. We are leveraging the strengths of Georgia's only public academic medical center, combining public health expertise with clinical knowledge to train future public health leaders. Our school is comprised of three academic departments: Biostatistics, Epidemiology & Data Science, Community & Behavioral Health Sciences, and Health Management, Economics & Policy. We offer a variety of degree programs, from specialized master's options to doctoral programs that create the next generation of public health researchers. Our research mission is critical to our long-term impact; we strongly emphasize scholarly productivity through peer-reviewed publications, scientific presentations, and grant-funded projects. Annually, we attract more than $6M in extramural funding.

Job Summary

In support of the MPH Program and all other education & certificate programs, this position will be responsible for management and coordination of the student application review and admissions process, assistance with student advisement, and the monitoring and reporting of quality performance measures in compliance with CEPH accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate Application Review and Admission Processes: Monitor BANNER and crystal reports for program applications on an ongoing basis. Prepare and maintain folders for all applications. Route folders of "completed applications" for admissions-committee review. Obtain program acceptance decisions from Director. Submit paperwork for program acceptance to Graduate Studies and Academic Admissions.

Support Student Advisement: Prepare academic advisor list for all new students. Support advisor and student in preparing custom (full-time or part-time) curriculum schedules with elective options. Support students in course registration. Prepare orientation packets for Orientation Day. Update and maintain student, internship, and capstone handbooks. Maintain student records.

Support Accreditation Process: Distribute surveys, collect, analyze, record data, and report information required for continued accreditations. Assist with preparation and submission of annual reports required for continuing accreditation. Assist with all aspects of preparing and submitting self-study required for accreditation as requested. Assist with making arrangements associated with re-accreditation visits. Assist program directors with maintaining files required by accrediting agency.

Support Quality Assurance: Maintain databases on program enrollments, student demographics, students' progress in program, graduation rates, retention rates, and employment rates. Generate student profile information as needed for a variety of meetings. Support the scheduling/minutes of MPH faculty/staff meetings, MPH subcommittee meetings and MPH Advisory meetings.

Support Marketing and Recruitment Activities: Support program and concentration directors in updating the website. Attend recruitment fairs to promote program. Respond to email and telephone inquiries related to concentration. Support the development of brochures and other materials to promote the program. Assist with graduation and other events as requested.

Other: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 1-year educational program or similar experience. OR Associate degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years' professional or administrative experience to include minimum of 2 years of educational program experience or similar experience. OR High School diploma/GED and 7 years of professional administrative experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with applicable experience working in an academic setting with knowledge of academic programs such as PeopleSoft and Banner.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Good organizational, attention to detail and prioritization skills.

ABILITIES

Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work independently with only general supervision. Ability to complete work and meet deadlines.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required).

Salary: $36,197-$48,865.95 annually.

Pay Grade: 14

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.
