Summary
Texas Children's Hospital has built a state-of-the-art children's and women's hospital in North Austin, Texas which has opened in February 2024. Initially, 52 inpatient beds will be available, including a Neonatal ICU, and Pediatric and Cardiac ICUs. Services planned include Heart Center with Cardiac Operating Rooms and Catheterization Laboratory, Neurosurgery, Neonatal Surgery, Fetal Center, Women's Unit with Labor and Delivery and Operating Rooms, and all major Pediatric Surgical Subspecialties. Texas Children's Department of Anesthesiology has created an Austin Division to provide high quality, state of the art care in all these areas. We are recruiting for several faculty positions; in addition to ACGME Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship training, faculty with fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiovascular Anesthesiology, Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management, and Obstetric Anesthesiology are needed. This is an exciting opportunity to help build a new clinical and academic Division at Texas Children's Hospital, the #2 ranked children's hospital by U.S. News and World Report for 2022-23. Employment is through Baylor College of Medicine, reporting to the Anesthesiologist-in-Chief, with oversight also by the TCH Community In-Chief Physician.
Required Education:
Medical School Degree; Residency in Anesthesiology; Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology. The successful candidate will be board certified/eligible in anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology. Additional subspecialty training in pediatric anesthesia is required and in pediatric cardiac anesthesia is preferable.
