ROLE SUMMARY

You will partner with leaders within the Oncology Research Portfolio Strategy and Scientific Operations (PSSO) group to effectively manage key business objectives related to Research portfolio strategy, resourcing and effective decision-making.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor progress against portfolio delivery within Oncology Research Unit (ORU)

  • Measure/monitor progress against portfolio goals to enable on-time delivery supporting business objectives in collaboration with Research Project Management (RPM) team members.

  • Partner with ORU Portfolio Operations (PO) and RPM team members to ensure operational excellence in portfolio delivery across ORU.

  • Develop dashboards and metrics to support portfolio delivery.

  • Draft ad-hoc and standard reports for senior leaders within ORU on key project deliverables and milestones.

Manage key milestones and project objectives across the ORU portfolio

  • Develop portfolio metrics and dashboards to ensure accurate reporting of ORU project milestones and timelines.

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of content in existing portfolio management tools such as Snapshot, Oncodash, and iPORT.

  • Monitor milestones and operational details of the ORU therapeutic programs in partnership with ORU Research Project Leads (RPLs) and RPMs to ensure the most updated project forecasts are accurately captured in source systems.

  • In partnership with RPM and PO leads, develop a strategy to capture deviations from projected timelines to enable improvements to portfolio delivery and identify opportunities for acceleration.

  • Interface with GPD Project Planning to provide regular updates to pre-Candidate Selection (CS) milestone forecasts, CS milestone transitions and IND timing to ensure accurate reporting across research and preclinical portfolio stages.

Provide key business analytics to help drive ORU portfolio delivery and resource optimization

  • Manage resource tracking in existing tools (Activity Tracker) and lead improvement efforts to ensure analytics enable effective ORU leadership decision making to maximize portfolio value.

  • Review and analyze resourcing information for ORU portfolio and provide regular and ad-hoc summaries to leadership (group heads) and ORU Leadership Team as requested.

  • Conduct routine and ad hoc business analytics for ORU senior leaders.

Manage, develop, and improve upon existing ORU portfolio management tools

  • Monitor and manage key content within existing portfolio management tools and pro-actively identify opportunities for improvements.

  • Contribute to development and implementation of PSSO strategies for new processes, approaches, or tools in support of ORU portfolio reporting.

  • May provide training to ORU leaders and colleagues on existing and newly implemented portfolio management tools.

Provide support for additional portfolio operations work

  • Contribute to long-term strategy, development, and maintenance of broader ORU communication solutions.

  • Work closely with PO lead and RPMs to support proactive planning for RRC governance interactions based on key milestones and project objectives.

  • Support to ORU portfolio process development, streamlining and implementation as needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in a Life Sciences or similar discipline

  • 5+ years research or clinical experience

  • 2+ years experience in a direct project/program management role

  • Knowledge of overall drug discovery and development processes

  • Hands on experience in business analytics and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI)

  • Experience with digital tools for project and portfolio management (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Planisware, OnePlan) and business communication platforms (e.g., Sharepoint, MS Teams)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MS degree and 3+ years of research or clinical experience

  • Internal knowledge of Pfizer processes, systems and organization

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $93,500.00 to $155,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
