The Department of Finance and Insurance has available a full-time Assistant Lecturer / Teaching Professor position starting August 15, 2025. The new hire will teach Business Law (BL260), a course required for all MCOB students, and at least one of the following courses: Estate Planning (BL367), Insurance Law (RMI 473) and Real Estate Law (RE230), and engage in professional and university service activities and scholarship.
1. Teaching load:
The teaching load is 12 hours/week each semester on campus. Some courses may be delivered online or in a hybrid format.
2. Professional Activity and Scholarship:
Maintain currency in business law by engaging in the required professional activities and / or scholarship, needed for a faculty qualification status.
3. Service:
Serve on committees, participate in student advising and community outreach, and generally contribute professional service to the university.

Minimum Experience:
Juris Doctorate, related law degree, or Masters Degree
Preferred Experience:
Relevant professional experience related to the legal environment of business; prior teaching experience in business law; interest in teaching estate planning, financial literacy, insurance law or real estate.
