The College of Nursing approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and that's thanks to our innovative, challenging and contemporary curriculum offered across all our various degree programs. Advanced degree options are available for the bachelor and masters prepared nurse with our Doctor of Nursing Practice programs, PhD in Nursing, and Post Master's Certificates. Job Summary
The Academic Success Coordinator will plan, develop, and manage the implementation and monitoring of AUCON pre-licensure student academic support. The coordinator will support high achieving students as well as those experiencing challenges, to assist them in reaching their academic potential and degree goals. The position reports to the AUCON Associate Dean of Student Affairs.
The coordinator collaborates/partners with the Augusta University Academic Success Center (AUASC) to ensure consistency in service to students including, but not limited to, tutor training, data collection, reporting, marketing and outreach, to prohibit duplication of services. The coordinator also collaborates with (AUCON) faculty and staff to integrate content and course requirements into academic enhancement programming. Programming responsibilities include arranging one-on-one and group tutoring and providing direct course and faculty support.
This position will meet one-on-one with students for success planning, and lead seminars and workshops to provide coaching in life skills/academic success strategies.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Engage with students to support their academic success:
Meet one-on-one with AUCON pre-licensure students to create success plans, track progress, and provide support.
Collaborate with AUASC to host workshops in academic content areas and success skills, such as study strategies and time management.
Manage the academic success programming in AUCON:
Develop and maintain academic support programming for AUCON.
Collaborate with AUASC to implement effective processes for peer educators including recruitment, screening, orientations, pedagogical training programs, and professional development.
Collaborate with faculty and AUCON student affairs staff to develop a comprehensive tutoring schedule each semester.
Develop online resources as needed.
Support the student academic success through:
Collaboration and communication with faculty to ensure tutoring supports academic course content.
Provide course learning assistance.
Provide feedback and follow-up with faculty on student progress.
In conjunction with the AUCON Associate Dean of Student Affairs, serves as liaison and collaborator with appropriate University programs, services, and organizations to develop programming to promote students' academic success.
Engage in data collection and develop progress reports through:
Maintain data related to student enrollment, attendance, retention.
Track student success utilizing designated benchmarks.
Create regular reports on student success AUCON.

Required Qualifications
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and at least 2 years of experience working with various student populations. MSc, MEd, MAT and equivalents accepted.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of math and/or science content area
Demonstrated experience with teaching, pedagogy and pedagogical strategies.
Demonstrated ability in working as part of a team, establishing rapport and collaborating with a variety of organizational stakeholders.
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint or comparable software programs. Experience with BANNER and student tracking software preferred.
Multicultural competencies, knowledge and experience working and interacting effectively with various groups of staff, faculty, and student populations.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: 8
Salary Minimum: $45,400 annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
