As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will utilize the latest technology to assist fellow caregivers in providing vision care to patients. This position is an essential aspect of comprehensive treatment and wellness, and your work can make a lasting difference in your community every day.
A caregiver in this position works days from from 7:30AM - 4:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Receive and prepare patients for examination or treatment under the direction of the supervisor or physician.
- Perform routine screening tests.
- Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
- Document patient information in their medical record.
- Perform clerical, stocking, maintenance and related duties.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of experience in an ophthalmic setting providing direct patient care OR additional formal Ophthalmology education/training
- Knowledge of medical terminology
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Additional formal education or training in Ophthalmology

Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC.
- Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
- May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
- Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
