As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will utilize the latest technology to assist fellow caregivers in providing vision care to patients. A caregiver in this position works days from from 7:30AM - 4:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Receive and prepare patients for examination or treatment under the direction of the supervisor or physician.
• Perform routine screening tests.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Document patient information in their medical record.
• Perform clerical, stocking, maintenance and related duties.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of experience in an ophthalmic setting providing direct patient care OR additional formal Ophthalmology education/training
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Additional formal education or training in Ophthalmology

Physical Requirements:

• Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
• May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
• Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.
