Temporary Postdoc - Axtell Lab
Department: Arthritis & Clinical Immuno
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Position Overview and Responsibilities
The Axtell Lab is seeking a highly motivated, passionate team player to join our efforts as a temporary Postdoc to investigate the mechanisms of autoimmune disease and/or inflammation. This role involves designing and conducting research experiments; managing research projects; preparing reports and papers for publication, presentation, and future research; contributing to grant writing, and guiding/leading graduate students, postdocs (if applicable) and additional lab staff; may manage staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a biological science, chemistry, physics or other relevant area, M.D., or equivalent.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic about science.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate and write summaries of results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Immunology training which include degrees in, but not limited to, Immunology, Pathology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Pathobiology, Biostatistics, Cell Biology or a related field with some immunology training or experience.
- Interest in autoimmunity and/or infectious disease.
- Experience with small animal models of autoimmunity or infectious diseases and/or with human immunology along with human specimens specifically peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs).
- Experience with Flow Cytometry and/or RNAseq.
- Experience with tissue culture techniques.
