Communications Coordinator - Office of External Relations

The University of Texas Permian Basin's Office of External Relations welcomes applications for the position of Communications Coordinator
Salary Range
$42,500.00 depending on qualifications
Essential Functions
The Communications Coordinator assists with plans and supports the University's Office of External Relations with overall responsibility for appeals to all constituencies, social media, and website upkeep. Donor engagement, stewardship, and solicitation. Manage all External Relation Office-related digital and print content creation in collaboration with the University of Texas Permian Basin Office of Marketing and Communications. This position offers the potential for a limited hybrid working arrangement. A remote schedule is not possible.
1. Write, edit, and/or contribute to the university's articles and eBlasts, Falcon4U posts, social media, blog posts, event invitations, web content, and other media in service of fundraising, audience engagement, and university branding
2. Report engagement results and assist management in developing corrective and/or enhancing actions based on results, follow up on planned actions, and report the status of activities to the President, the Institutional Audit Committee, the UT System Audit Office, and management as applicable.
3. Support the university's annual Scholarship Ball, Falcon Day of Giving and other fundraising events.
4. Assists with the comprehensive Annual Giving Programs, proposal writing, and donor stewardship efforts—drafts personalized and timely acknowledgment letters.
5. Assist with outreach to departments/colleges for stewardship reports, including endowment donor reports, impact stories, and award recipients.
6. Oversee transition to electronic records by scanning and naming paper records in the electronic system.
7. Ability to handle highly confidential materials, exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills, and maintain integrity. Provide leadership and critical thinking skills to decision-making. Possess exceptional interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and the ability to establish long-term relationships with stakeholders.
8. Be highly organized and able to establish priorities for projects and assignments.
9. The ability to balance multiple tasks with accuracy and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
10. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Specifically, Word, Excel, and Outlook) to implement, develop, and maintain computer-based business operations.
11. Self-motivated to stay current with emerging office technologies and recommend and implement improvements.

Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree*
2. One (1) year of direct experience in a marketing or communications position or related advancement experience.
3. Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
*Experience will be considered in lieu of education
Preferred Qualifications
1. Previous experience working in basic marketing/graphics software programs (Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)

Schedule
Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.
Standard Working Conditions
1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
