Job Description

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains Carbon dioxide Incubator, tissue culture hoods, Millipore filtration systems, microplate readers, HPLC, gel documentation systems, protein purification systems, centrifuges, microscopes, spectrophotometers, electrophoresis systems, Bioprocessors, and pH meters.
Develops standard operating procedures for the equipment.
Proficiently operates computer-interfaced equipment and troubleshoots when necessary.
Demonstrates use of equipment to students.
Performs standard tissue culture techniques.
Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Biology, Biotechnology, or Cellular and Molecular Biology
Experience working in a Biological Science Laboratory
Experience in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology techniques


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills


SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:



One (1) part-time position



Duration: Until 7/31/2026, with the potential to extend beyond this date contingent on funding



SCHEDULE: Monday-Saturday
Hours are flexible, with mornings and afternoons as needed, up to 20 hours per week

This is a specially funded position, dependent for its existence upon federal, State, or other non-College operating funds, and is not funded pursuant to the regular College budget. Continued employment is always contingent upon satisfactory performance and College needs. Grant funded positions are also contingent upon continued funding. This appointment is for the specified period only. Employment beyond the expiration date of the grant is subject to appropriate provisions of existing collectively bargained agreements in effect at the time for employees covered by those agreements.
