Qualifications:
Environmental Science is the introductory lab accompanying the Environmental Science lecture. The lab will review the physical, chemical, biological, geological and cultural dimensions of environmental problems, which surveys the historical roots of these problems, then considers components such as population pressure, air and water pollution, global change, desertification, and deforestation. Students will also explore topics such as ecosystem goods and services, environmental management, environmental justice and sustainability for the common good.
This laboratory will be taught on the Moraga campus in person during the 2026 Fall term (August 31, 2026 - December 20, 2026) on Wednesday from 3:30pm - 5:30 pm.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
Candidates must have a Master's or Ph.D. degree preferred in a relevant area of Environmental or Earth Science discipline and a successful record of teaching experience in a related field at the undergraduate level. Preference will be given to those who have previously taught the lecture or lab or EES 92 or EES 92L (prior to Carnegie conversion).
Candidates must reside in California.
The salary range for this position is $4,965 - $6,872 (2 units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
