Job Description

Responsibilities*
Technology Support & Staff Leadership

Team Leadership and Operations: Manage performance for tech staff across Ann Arbor, Flint, and Dearborn campuses-directing priorities, resource allocation, and after-hours support to ensure service excellence.
Standards & Cross-Team Collaboration: Promote unified operational standards while bridging regional and central DPSS technology teams.

Technology Coordination & Enterprise Support

Strategic Liaison & Collaboration: Act as the primary technology liaison connecting DPSS Tech Ops, Physical Security, and campus leadership-partnering with ITS, Facilities, and vendors to deploy enterprise public safety technologies.
Operations and Continuous Improvement: Monitor regional system performance to enforce DPSS technical standards while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and user experience.

Project Management

End-to-End Project Leadership: Lead cross-campus technology programs from planning through implementation, managing budgets, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
Execution & Risk Control: Direct cross-departmental teams and monitor risks to deliver projects on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic priorities

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

Stakeholder Alignment and Reporting: Partner with executive leadership, campus administrators, IT, facilities, and external agencies to deliver strategic updates and executive-level reporting on important initiatives.
Technical Translation & Enablement: Translate complex technical concepts into relevant communications, documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for diverse audiences.

Emergency Radio Program Management

Program Leadership & Lifecycle Operations: Direct the DPSS Emergency Radio Program, managing the complete lifecycle, maintenance, programming, inventory, and system upgrades for all radio equipment fleets.
Partner Collaboration & Interoperability: Collaborate with state, county, municipal, and university partners to maintain regulatory compliance, advance technology expansions, and ensure seamless cross-agency communication.

Required Qualifications*
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in IT, Criminal Justice, Public Administration (or equivalent) plus 5+ years supporting enterprise technology systems and managing full lifecycle projects.
Management: 3+ years supervising technical, geographically dispersed teams.
