As aRadiationTherapist, you willimplementprescribedtreatmentsto patients with various forms of cancer.Radiation is administered in therapeutic doses and can send certain localized forms of cancer into remission. A caregiver in this position worksPRN (as needed) variable shifts.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide therapeutic and patient care services to deliver radiation therapyas prescribed bya physician.

• Determineand deliverappropriate patienttreatmentplansin collaboration with physician and dosimetrist.

• Monitor and document patient's condition,reportany adverse reactions.

• Assess andeducatepatients according to specific department protocols.

• Position patients andselectanatomic/technical parameters accurately.

• Check andadjustnecessary equipment, including linear accelerator.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of a CAHEA approved School of Radiation Therapy technology or registry eligible

• Board certified Registered Radiation Therapist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), R.T.(R)(T)(ARRT) in good standing

• Current state licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS)Certification for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross

• Experience withRadiationOncologyandspecific electronic medical records

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Experience withExternalRadiationTherapy, IMRT, IGRT andCTSimulation
