Fitness Coordinator (Part-Time)

Position Overview & Responsibilities
The Part-Time Fitness Trainer leads exercise programming at the OMRF Fitness Center, creating a welcoming and motivating environment that supports employees in achieving their fitness goals. This position coordinates and instructs group exercise classes while providing individualized fitness guidance, including proper exercise technique, form, and safety. The Fitness Trainer also monitors the fitness center, ensuring equipment and facilities are clean, safe, functional, and well maintained. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others build healthy habits and making fitness approachable and engaging. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provides exercise leadership expertise in the areas of supervised workouts, fitness testing, and group exercise instruction according to the latest certification.
• Coordinates and/or instructs exercise classes for all fitness levels.
• Acts as a liaison between OMRF and external resources to assist with the coordination of group classes and other fitness center activities.
• Assists in planning and directing a comprehensive fitness program for fitness center participants.
• Educates participants on proper and safe exercise form and/or practices.
• Provides participants with positive assistance and motivation to help improve their overall health.
• Executes equipment orientations and ensures adherence to the OMRF Fitness Center's policy and procedures.
• Partners with administration to provide optimal performance of the fitness center to meet the needs and satisfaction of the participants.
• Assists OMRF in implementation of strategic wellness program and marketing plans.
• Responsible for the exercise area and equipment are safe and clean.
• Coordinates laundering and distribution of clean towels in exercise area and locker room.
• Ensures compliance to equipment preventative maintenance schedule and immediately reports any facility or equipment issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in exercise related field internship experience or 10+ years relevant experience in the field.
• Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required.

Work Hours

• Variable depending on participants' schedules that typically occur Monday through Friday between 6:00AM-5:00PM.
