We play a crucial role in supporting operations across both Buildings 836 and 809, driving forward the design, development, and qualification efforts that underpin the safety and reliability of the U.S. Nuclear Stockpile.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of classified operations, providing essential administrative support that keeps critical activities running smoothly, from managing desktop and conference room functions in Building 836 to supporting hands-on operations for New Mexico's stockpile systems.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Oversee a Vault-Type Room (VTR) that delivers secure computing and printing capabilities for classified Stockpile systems, ensuring strict adherence to corporate policies and access controls.
  • Coordinate seamless conference room experiences for both classified and unclassified meetings, including managing videoconferencing technology and room maintenance.
  • Proactively submit and track trouble tickets to maintain uninterrupted availability of VTR and conference room resources.
  • Manage vault servers, computers, and printers to support mission-critical operations.
  • Maintaining WEBCATs access control lists across multiple VTRs to safeguard sensitive environments.
  • Handle computer trouble tickets promptly to resolve issues and keep systems running efficiently.

In addition to the core responsibilities, the selected candidate will also perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the team's overall mission and ensure smooth operations.

If you're ready to contribute to a mission of national importance in a fast-paced, highly secure environment, this is the role for you!

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant will be required to work onsite full-time in Albuquerque, NM.

Salary Range:

$48,500 - $89,000

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:

  • High school diploma plus three or more years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent to start with the ability to participate as requested in random polygraph testing.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • A strong commitment to fostering a respectful and collaborative work environment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently, maintaining reliability and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment with high security and confidentiality requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with videoconferencing platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams to support classified and unclassified meetings.
  • Proficiency and comfort with technology, including configuring and troubleshooting computers, secure conference room systems, and classified environment protocols.
  • Demonstrated initiative and proactive problem-solving skills to anticipate and address operational needs.

About Our Team:

The Stockpile Tech Basis organization delivers agile solutions to the nuclear deterrent through our system engineering expertise and our hardware lifecycle management team. Through our system engineering, we can shape a program to address near term needs for the nation and lead that program from development to qualification, through operational capability. We team with diverse organizations throughout the labs to deliver the needed capability. Our hardware lifecycle management team provides full lifetime support for hardware needs for system level development and qualification activities from early identification of needs, provisioning, kitting, assembly of test assets, and final disposition of the hardware. This full lifecycle management enables the engineers to execute high fidelity experiments to validate designs.

Posting Duration:

This posting will be open for application submissions for a minimum of three (3) calendar days, including the 'posting date'. Sandia reserves the right to extend the posting date at any time.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
